Filberts balms are concentrated oil-based moisturisers which contain no water. Standard lotions contain a large percentage of water, often as much as 50%. This means they need emulsifiers to prevent them separating, thickeners and powerful preservative. Our natural beeswax balms and salves contain oils and skin-feeding goodness without any of the other stuff. They last for ages, as a small amount goes a long way. You pay a lot for the water in a cream or lotion.
We also believe in the power of plant-goodness to help lift your mood or soothe your soul. We have crafted recipes to be a balm for your senses as well as your skin.
If you want a salve to absorb more quickly, just add tap water. A few drops will do the trick, or apply salves to damp skin after washing.
